The events of October 7th deeply impacted not only Israel, but Jewish communities around the world, including my own. As time has passed, the pain and uncertainty surrounding the hostages and their families have remained deeply present. My artwork reflects how tragedy in Israel can feel deeply personal, even from thousands of miles away. The yellow ribbon and grieving woman represent my connection to those affected and the emotional ties that bind Jewish communities globally.

I used colored pencil and collage to create this piece, using soft textures and careful details to convey emotion. Every line and shade was created intentionally to express mourning, love, remembrance, and belonging. This artwork is my way of expressing how the ongoing struggles in Israel have shaped my identity and deepened my sense of Jewish belonging. This piece is not only about sadness—it is about continuing to remember, staying connected, and standing together as עם ישראל.
