“Eye of the Tiger” is a charcoal and acrylic portrait that captures the strength and confidence of a tiger. The tiger’s intense gaze draws the viewer in and reflects determination and focus. Using charcoal allowed me to create strong contrasts and detailed textures in the fur, while acrylic paint was used inside the ears to add subtle depth. Through this piece, I wanted to capture the tiger’s powerful presence and symbolize the courage and inner strength that it represents.

“The Weight of a Gaze” is a black-and-white gouache painting of a cheetah, focusing on the bold pattern of its coat and the intensity of its eyes. I used black gouache to carefully create the cheetah’s distinctive print, while adding detailed, expressive eyes that draw the viewer’s attention. The simplicity of the black-and-white palette emphasizes the natural pattern and personality of the animal, capturing its strength and presence through its gaze.
