Slopes, 2025, wire mesh and plaster and gesso, 12”x12”
This low relief sculpture “Slopes” explores the natural flow and form of 3 three-dimensional surfaces through rigid materials. I was able to create organic curves and shapes with a sense of structure by using mesh and plaster. The gesso created a smooth, white surface that draws attention to the fold of slopes by emphasizing depth and shadows. Despite being abstract, this piece evokes feelings of quiet beauty, subtle tension, and calmness. Slopes reflect how simple forms can contain meaning, movement, and complexity.
